As passed by the Senate, we previously reported, Senate Bill 269 amended existing law to prohibit the tethering of dogs for all hunting and training activities.
After receiving numerous concerns from the sportsmen’s community, the bill sponsor submitted Amendment 667, returning the exemption relating to hunting and training activities back to its original status written in law.
Last week, the Assembly passed the newly amended SB 269 and the Senate concurred. SB 269 will now be sent to Governor Joe Lombardo for his consideration.
With hunting and training activities no longer under threat, the Sportsmen’s Alliance is able to take a neutral stance on this legislation.
Thank you to all our members and the sportsmen’s community for taking action and helping to ensure hunting and training activities are protected in the Silver State.
The 2023 legislative session is getting closer to adjournment and the Sportsmen’s Alliance will continue to monitor the session and inform you should any more action is needed.
