If Issue 1 fails, you don’t have to take our word that animal-rights and gun-control advocates will work to get a measure restricting or eliminating hunting, fishing, trapping and firearm ownership on the ballot. In a press conference on Wednesday, July 26, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb told the crowd, “So we can use our real political power to change the culture of guns in this state, it starts by voting no on Issue 1 by the way, to make sure that we can maybe put a ballot measure on our Constitution to have common sense gun reform.” Check out his words for yourself by below:
As previously mentioned, advocates working to eliminate our way of life are steadily working from the coasts to “middle America.” Those advocates are not working their way to Ohio, those advocates are here, and sportsmen need to heed Mayor Bib’s warning, they are coming for our firearms and our way of life.
Supporting Issue 1 is your chance to protect Ohio’s sportsmen’s traditions and heritage by requiring 60% of Ohioans to agree before changing the state’s Constitution. Our own U.S. Constitution requires a two-thirds vote (66%) of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, after which three-quarters (75%) of the states must also approve the language for it to be approved. Ohio’s Constitution deserves this protection.
Stand with the Sportsmen’s Alliance, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Ohio Restaurant Association, the Ohio Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the National Shooting Sports Association, Buckeye Firearms Association, along with several other organizations to protect Ohio’s Constitution by voting Yes on Issue 1.
Do not forget to share this important message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen urging them to Support heritage, Support Issue 1. Sportsmen and gun owners throughout the Buckeye State must continue to stay actively involved to defend our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
