Tomorrow, March 22, at 8:00 a.m., in hearing room D, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear House Bill 2006, a bill to restrict Oregon young adults under the age of 21 from possessing certain semi-automatic firearms.
As requested by Governor Tina Kotek and Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, HB 2006 prohibits persons under 21 years of age from possessing certain categories of firearms. HB 2006 also and provides that a person may not intentionally sell, deliver or otherwise transfer a firearm when the transferor knows or reasonably should know that the recipient is under 21 years of age, unless transferred by a parent or guardian and classifies the violation as a Class A misdemeanor.
HB 2006 is nothing more than gun-control advocates trying to sell “feel-good” legislation as doing something for public safety. In reality, this legislation only adds more restrictions to owning a firearm for law-abiding sportsmen and gun owners. Please use our take action button to contact the members of the committee urging them to OPPOSE HB 2006.
Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen also urging them to email the committee urging them to OPPOSE HB 2006.
