As we previously reported, the Pennsylvania state senate passed a fiscal bill, House Bill 1300, that held a funding provision of serious concern to sportsmen. An amendment was added to divert $150 million from the Game Fund to the Clean Streams Fund. The Game Fund is where hunting and trapping license fees and related dollars reside – a direct assault on the hunters and trappers of the Keystone State.
Thanks to your emails and the outcry from the sportsmen community, the diversion of funds from the Game Fund was removed from HB 1300 before the House passed the bill 121 to 82.
HB 1300 will go back to the Senate for a concurrence vote.
The Senate is expected to return for a voting session Monday, October 16, when HB 1300 is eligible for a vote. In the meantime, please use our Take Action button to email your state Senator urging them to protect the Keystone State’s hunting heritage and support the House removal of the Game Fund diversion.
Don’t forget to share this alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen asking them to also email their state Senator urging them to support the House’s decision to protect sportsmen and remove the game fund diversion.
