Yesterday, Thursday, May 30, Delaware Governor John Carney signed House Bill 271 into law.
In 2016, Delaware started the process of removing the Sunday hunting prohibition for deer. Today, hunters are allowed to hunt every Sunday during the state’s archery and firearm deer season AND now they will be able to hunt game birds on Sundays.
“We thank Governor Carney for recognizing the importance of our hunting heritage by signing HB 271 giving Delaware hunters more opportunities in the outdoors on Sundays,” said Dr. Todd Adkins, Vice President of Government Affairs at the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
Don’t forget to read the 2024 – 2025 Delaware hunting regulations to ensure what Delaware considers game birds, along with season dates and bag limits.
And don’t forget to share this alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Delaware sportsmen and women must continue to stay actively involved in defending our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
