Governor Josh Shapiro has signed the bill to repeal the Keystone State’s longstanding Sunday hunting prohibition into law!
Since 2020, sportsmen have been able to hunt on three designated Sundays. HB 1431 completely removes the prohibition of hunting and furtaking on Sunday throughout the state.
This new law takes effect on September 7, 2025. After that date, the Pennsylvania Game Commission will be able to set new season dates that can include Sundays.
Do not forget to share this alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Remind them that the fight to protect sportsmen’s rights does not stop here. It is essential to stay engaged. You can do so by attending and participating in game commission meetings. Due to the signing of HB 1431 into law, the next commission meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, July 28.
