At noon, on Wednesday, March 1, in House hearing room 1, the House Civil Justice Committee is scheduled to hear two bills of interest to sportsmen.
House Bill 395 allows persons who are not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a handgun to carry a handgun while hunting, so long as the handgun is not used for the taking of the game. HB 395 conforms hunting regulations with the state’s permitless carry law.
House Bill 1189 protects Tennessee’s firearm industry from those who want to destroy the sporting community with crippling lawsuits against firearms manufacturers for the violent acts of third parties. Lawful firearm manufacturers and firearm dealers should not be responsible for crimes committed by third parties outside of their control.
Please use our take action button to email the members of the committee urging them to support HB 395 and HB 1189. These two bills will bring positive changes to the Volunteer state for sportsmen.
