Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6, at 10:30 a.m., in Tennessee House hearing room I, the House State Government Committee is scheduled to hear legislation to strengthen the protection of hunting, angling, and trapping for its sportsmen.
House Bill 2263 requires fish and wildlife commission appointees to be actively involved in activities regulated by the commission, including hunting, angling, trapping and boating. The bill does not stop there, it also states that the commission and the agency shall support and promote hunting, angling and trapping, including the management of predators through hunting and trapping, as preferred methods of wildlife management and conservation.
Use the Take Action button to email the committee members and ask them to vote Yes on HB 2263. Let them know this is exactly the kind of legislation needed to ensure hunting, angling, and trapping is protected for present and future generations to enjoy.
Also tomorrow, the companion bill to HB 2263, Senate Bill 2039 is scheduled to be heard at 11 a.m. in Senate hearing room I, in the Senate Energy, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Committee.
