Attendance is a must for sportsmen at the Friday, April 11, Game & Fish (G&F) Commission meeting. This critical meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the Arizona Game & Fish Department Headquarters, located at 5000 W. Carefree Highway, in Phoenix.
The commission will consider two petitions submitted by the Center for Biological Diversity and other animal-extremist groups to 1) remove a pursuit-only season for bears, mountain lions and raccoons from the list of tools the commission and department can use, and 2) remove dogs as an allowed method of take for bear, lions, rabbits, tree squirrels, predators and other furbearers. They will also be considering proposed commission orders related to deer, black bear (fall and spring), trapping, javelina (fall and spring), migratory game birds and a list of other items.
Attendance is important because members of the public may only address the commission by attending in person or from any regional office. Use the button to find your closest regional office.
The commission consists of five citizens who are charged with making rules and regulations for managing, conserving, and protecting wildlife and fisheries resources, and safe and regulated watercraft and off-highway vehicle operations for the benefit of the citizens of Arizona.
The commission must hear from us, the sportsmen, if we want to protect our lifestyle and heritage. If we don’t, you know that the animal extremists will fill the void. They are already cratering our hunting, fishing, and trapping traditions from the inside out in other states. We cannot let that happen in the Grand Canyon State.
Share this alert with your family and friends and encourage them to attend this and future commission meetings in-person or virtual. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to fight, protect, and defend against the relentless attacks from animal extremists. The extremists are working tirelessly to crater our rights, values and heritage and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today, tomorrow, and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
