Last Friday, April 18, Governor Polis continued his disdain for Colorado’s law-abiding citizens and sportsmen by signing two more anti-sportsmen bills into law.
HB25-1133 prohibits 18- to 20-year-olds from purchasing ammunition in person and by delivery.
Colorado law requires that any firearm sold at a gun show, even by a private citizen not in the business of selling firearms, has a criminal background check conducted on a perspective buyer AND follows the three-day waiting period before receipt of the firearm. Additionally, HB25-1238 adds burdensome bureaucratic red tape on gun show vendors and organizers, making it harder for a vendor or organizer to host a gun show.
What is the logic and reason for adding more laws that only law-abiding sportsmen and citizens will respect? Colorado already has a plethora of firearm laws on the books to protect the public from gun violence. HB25-1133 and HB25-1238 do nothing to reduce violent crime – they only delay and deny civil rights of the law abiding.
If the gun-control majority of the Centennial State wants to protect its citizens, then we must hold criminals accountable for their violent acts and legislators accountable for any vote that allows criminals to abuse the judicial system.
