At 2:00 p.m. this afternoon, the Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Committee is scheduled to hear Senate Bill 50, a gun control measure that will have far-reaching effects on our freedom and hunting heritage.
SB 50 institutes a 10-day waiting period for firearm transfers which has not been shown to promote public safety. Instead, arbitrary waiting periods limit the actions of law-abiding citizens, including those who want a firearm for self-defense or for hunting. Bills like this are nothing more than political grandstanding driven by emotion and the appearance of “doing something.”
Please use the take action button below to email the members of the Senate Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Committee urging them to oppose SB 50.
Every law-abiding sportsman in Utah must oppose this anti-gun measure and ask for real solutions to violent crime that respect the individual freedom of law-abiding citizens. Don’t forget to forward this email to your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen, urging them to take action and to sign-up for updates and join the Sportsmen’s Alliance for regular updates and action items.
