The Colorado House of Representatives concurred with the Senate version of House Bill 22-1168 that gives local schools the ability to provide a hunter education course to seventh graders and as an elective class to any other grade. The bill is now awaiting Gov. Jared Polis’ signature to become law.
“This is a great step in furthering the education of future generations,” said Dillon Barto, manager of state services at the Sportsmen’s Alliance. “We applaud the efforts of our fellow sportsmen and women who worked tirelessly to see this legislation become law and we are hopeful that other states will follow suit and enact similar legislation.”
