If you live in the Washington D.C. area and use the Metro to commute daily, you may notice large billboards with the faces of animals staring at you. They are the work of the watchdog group, Humanewatch.org, who is trying to educate people about the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and their true agenda.
Humanewatch.org recently placed ads around the station that show large images of dogs and cats reading “Where’s the funding?” and to “Read the fine print.” Along with those questions, the billboards spell out that HSUS only gives 1% of its budget to local pet shelters.
According to humanwatch.org, the Metro system receives 150 million trips in a month and they hope to spread the word about HSUS to as many individuals as possible.
Often confused with your local animal shelter, HSUS in fact is a national organization best known for their campaigns against the hunting community.
As the number one anti-hunting organization on our “Dirty Dozen” list, we hope that these billboards, and their message, get spread far and wide.
