Settled Cases
A synopsis of past litigation we’ve engaged in to protect America’s sportsmen
The Sportsmen’s Alliance has been actively engaged in the courts for 30 years defending hunting, fishing and trapping. Some cases fought off challenges to close public lands systems to hunting, while others defended laws enacted to protect hunters from animal-rights radicals. Barring the antis from misusing laws and regulations to attack hunting, trapping and fishing is another feature of Sportsmen’s Alliance’s long-time legal strategy. The following sampling of cases, dating back to the mid-1980s, are emblematic of the Sportsmen’s Alliance’s successful work in the courtroom on behalf of hunters, anglers, and trappers, defense of state management of wildlife, and defense of professional, scientific wildlife management.
