Last Friday, the Indiana 2024 legislation session adjourned sine die. This means the legislative session is completed.
This year, the legislative session was quiet for sportsmen, and only a handful of sportsmen-related bills were introduced. Two bills of concern to sportsmen did make it to Governor Eric Holcomb for consideration.
House Bill 1412 establishes a statewide standard of care for canines and protects sporting dogs and hobby breeders. Governor Holcomb signed HB 1412 into law on March 4th.
House Bill 1084 protects the privacy rights of sportsmen regarding credit card purchases. It passed the legislature last week and is now on its way to the Governor.
Even though the 2024 legislative session is over, the Sportsmen’s Alliance will continue to monitor activities in the Hoosier State. You never know when issues that sportsmen need to be aware of may arise.
On our interactive legislative map, you can view the bills the Sportsmen’s Alliance monitored during the legislative session. Please share this message with your family and friends as sportsmen throughout Indiana must continue to stay actively involved to defend our hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage for present and future generations to enjoy.
