Tomorrow, April 11, at 9 a.m. in State Capitol, Room 126, the Assembly Public Safety Committee is scheduled to hear a bill to tax sportsmen and gun owners to pay for gun violence protection, healing and recovery programs. Please use our Take Action button to email the committee and urge them to OPPOSE Assembly Bill 28.
Assembly Bill 28 establishes the Gun Violence Prevention, Healing and Recovery Fund, and imposes an additional 11% tax on the gross receipt from the retail sale of any firearm, firearm precursor part or ammunition to go towards this fund.
“This legislation is just another tactic gun-control advocates are using to get law-abiding sportsmen and gun owners to give up their freedom and pay for the criminal actions of others,” said Todd Adkins, vice president of government affairs at the Sportsmen’s Alliance. “Violent crime is a societal problem with many causes that should be borne by everyone instead of singling out innocent sportsmen and firearms owners.”
Don’t forget to share this important message with your family, friends and fellow sportsmen, and ask them to email the committee to OPPOSE AB 28.
