On Monday, March 13, the Senate passed SB23-168 20 to 15. The House of Representatives did not waste any time scheduling this bill to add more restrictions to the lawful ownership of firearms for a committee hearing.
On Monday, March 20, at 1:30, in the Old State Library, the House State, Civic, Military, & Veterans Affairs is scheduled to hear SB23-169. Please use our take action button to email the members of the committee urging them to OPPOSE SB23-169.
SB23-169 raises the age to purchase or possess a firearm to 21 with a list of confusing exemptions that will lead to many 18-20-year-old law-abiding citizens being stripped of their right to hunt, shoot, and defend themselves. This legislation isn’t about stopping crime or protecting communities, it’s about cratering the freedom of law-abiding hunters throughout Colorado.
Make sure you share this information with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen as committee members need to hear the opposition to SB23-169 not only from the sportsmen community but every gun owner in the Centennial State. Also, encourage them to sign-up for updates and join the Sportsmen’s Alliance.
