Earlier this week, House Bill 1018 passed the Senate by a vote of 33 to 19. This important bill protecting sportsmen’s credit card purchase privacy rights in the Peach State is headed to Governor Brian Kemp for consideration.
As previously reported, HB 1018 prohibits a financial entity from using a firearms merchant category code to distinguish a firearms retailer from other retailers thus preventing firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition from being specifically singled out purchases with a credit card. It also prohibits persons or government entities from keeping registries of firearms or owners of firearms.
Please use the Take Action button to email the Governor asking him to sign HB 1018 into law. With credit card companies working to implement the use of MCCs because of California, it is more important now than ever for Georgia to protect its sportsmen’s credit card privacy rights.

Don’t forget to share this alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Ask them to email the Governor urging him to sign HB 1018 into law.
