Maine sportsmen will have the opportunity to fight for their future when the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Advisory Council holds a meeting with a public comment opportunity at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, at 353 Water Street, room 400 in Augusta. This meeting will cover various subjects and issues important to hunters, including the proposed 2025-26 migratory bird season and gray squirrel hunting season. If you would like to attend remotely (Microsoft Teams), please contact Becky.Orff@maine.gov for login information.
The 10-member council provides the commissioner with information and advice on enhancing fisheries and wildlife resource management in the state. This is why the council must hear from us, the sportsmen, if we want to protect our heritage. If we don’t, you can guarantee that the animal extremists will fill the void. They are already dismantling our hunting, fishing and trapping traditions from the inside out in other states. We cannot let that happen in our great state.
There has never been a more important time in sportsmen’s history than now to be involved and engaged in protecting our way of life. Share this alert with your family and friends and get a commitment from them to kick in when needed. Urge them to join the fight with you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance. The extremists work tirelessly to destroy our rights, values and heritage, and we must work harder to ensure they are secure today, tomorrow and for the future.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box. We make this promise to the American sportsman: we will never give up and never give in while proudly securing our future against those seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions. Stay connected to Sportsmen’s Alliance: Online, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
