House Bill 2900 is on the Illinois House Agriculture & Conservation Committee agenda for tomorrow, Tuesday, March 12. As previously reported, this bill is aimed at banning coyote contests but is written to ban any contest or competition taking any fur-bearing mammal, with limited exemptions.
Animal-rights activists do not care that wildlife contests are a tool for predator population control. When left unchecked, disease spreads, predation of livestock increases and negative human-wildlife interactions rise dramatically. They want you to believe it is about animal welfare; what they won’t tell you this is about implementing the bigger plan to restrict and ultimately eliminate hunting in the Land of Lincoln in the future.
