Tomorrow, March 29, there are two bills of concern to sportsmen that need your attention.
At 1 p.m. in room 100, the House Judiciary Committee has scheduled to hear gun control bill, Senate Bill 1. Please use our Take Action button to email the committee urging them to OPPOSE SB 1.
SB 1 prohibits sportsmen from wearing, carrying or transporting a firearm onto the real property of another unless the other has given certain permission to the person or the public generally; and prohibits sportsmen from wearing, carrying or transporting a firearm within 100 feet of a place of public accommodation. This legislation needs no explanation because it clearly prohibits sportsmen and gun owners from carrying on or transporting a firearm to many places they currently hunt and shoot.
Also, tomorrow, at 1 p.m., in room 251, the House Environment & Transportation Committee will have a hearing on Senate Bill 10. Please use our Take Action button to email the committee urging them to SUPPORT SB 10. Please make sure you use both take action buttons to ensure both committees receive your email.
SB 10 requires the Department of Natural Resources to make available in a digital or electronic format all licenses, stamps, permits, registrations and certificates issued by the Department and accept the format as proof of a valid license, stamp, permit, registration or certificate. More states are offering and accepting digital and electronic formats of hunting and fishing licenses, and we are glad to see Maryland stepping into the digital era.
Don’t forget to share this message with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen urging them to email the respective committees urging them to OPPOSE SB 1 and SUPPORT 10.
Please support me and the sportsmen community by not placing additional restrictions on our firearms and sporting freedom and opposing SB 1.
