After making a mockery of the legislative process, the House passed the third version of their 2023 gun control manifesto, H.4135, by a vote of 120 to 38. H.4135 will now head to the Senate for their consideration.
If you have been following along, you know the Senate disagreed with the original House gun control bill HD.4420 and stated they would be working on their own gun control version. We have yet to see a bill introduced in the Senate. In the meantime, please use our Take Action button to email your state Senator urging him/her to concentrate on legislation that will hold individuals accountable for their criminal actions and not turn law-abiding sportsmen into criminals.
Even Mark Leahy, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, stated, “…this bill makes no one safer. As we’ve said, the answer lies in the vigorous prosecution of criminals, who have no regard for gun laws, whether old or new.”
H.4135 includes:
- Widespread bans on commonly owned firearms,
- Implementing new “safe storage” mandates in and out of your home,
- Instituting expanded gun registry programs,
- Placing extreme restrictions on nonresidents entering the state with firearms,
- Placing extreme financial burdens on sportsmen to price them out of being able to exercise their hunting heritage and Second Amendment rights,
- And much more
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen urging them to email their state Senator asking him/her to also concentrate on legislation to protect sportsmen and hold criminals accountable for their actions.
