This afternoon, you should have received an alert about turning all dog breeders into commercial breeders. This alert continues with more bills working to eviscerate hunting and firearm ownership in the Tennesse that are scheduled to be heard tomorrow, March 12.
Please make sure you use both Take Action buttons to ensure the respective committee members know sportsmen OPPOSE these bills.
The House Insurance Subcommittee at noon in the House Hearing Room I is scheduled to hear House Bill 1583.
This bill requires an individual who resides in this state and owns a firearm to maintain gun liability insurance in an amount of at least one million dollars, which insures the individual against losses or damages, including death, injury, or property damage, resulting from the use of the individual’s firearm.
Gun-control advocates claim that requiring insurance will “promote” responsible firearm ownership, along with being able to use the insurance money to offset the cost of violent crime caused by criminals. This tactic, however, is nothing more than an attempt to punish us, the law-abiding, by making us pay for the criminal acts of others.
Please use the Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote “NO” on HB 1583.

The K – 12 Subcommittee at 4:30 p.m. in House Hearing Room II is scheduled to hear House Bill 2193.
This egregious bill imposes an additional 15% excise tax on firearms. The money from this tax goes to the K – 12 mental health counselor fund. Anti-gun advocates think if they say, “It’s for the children,” then everyone will support it. The Sportsmen’s Alliance believes children are our future and should be protected, BUT this bill mandates sportsmen pay for actions caused by the criminal acts of others with a firearm. A fund like this should be funded by all citizens of the state and not just its sportsmen.
Please use the Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote “NO” on HB 2193.

Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Ask them to use the Take Action button, because these committee members need to know Tennessee sportsmen oppose these back-door tactics to eliminate hunting and firearm ownership due to the criminal actions of others.
