On Tuesday, March 5, anti-gun bill HB 1935 failed to pass out of the Tennessee House Criminal Justice Subcommittee.
HB 1935 prohibited the sale of semi-automatic firearms with certain “features.” This is similar to prohibitions currently used in states like California, New York, and New Jersey.
HB 2277 has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, March 12, and HB 1587 has been rescheduled for the subcommittee’s final calendar day.
Please use the Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote NO on HB 2277. We will inform you later when or if action will be necessary for HB1587.

HB 2277 prohibits those under 21 from purchasing a rifle or shotgun.
HB 1587 prohibits the manufacture of semi-automatic firearms in the state.
Unfortunately, the House Banking & Consumer Affairs Subcommittee ran out of time again. HB 2762, the “Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act,” has been rescheduled to be heard Tuesday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m. HB 2762 prohibits a financial institution or its agents from using a firearms merchant category code (MCC) by a firearms retailer physically located in this state in a manner that distinguishes a firearms retailer from a general merchandise retailer or a sporting goods retailer.
If you have not already done so, please use the Take Action button to email the subcommittee members and urge them to vote YES to HB 2762!

The Senate Judiciary Committee also ran out of time on Tuesday. SB 1927 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 12, at 3 p.m.
SB 1927 weakens the Volunteer State’s firearm preemption law by repealing storage from the statute. This will allow local governments to enact their own laws, regulations, and ordinances on how and where sportsmen must store their firearms, ammunition, AND firearm accessories.
If you have not already done so, please use the Take Action button to email the committee members and urge them to vote NO on SB 1927.

Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen. Ask them to use all the Take Action button to ensure the voice of sportsmen are heard on each of the bills scheduled for a committee hearing tomorrow.
