Permit-to-purchase system hasn’t even taken effect as lawmakers discuss fee increases and time delays for issuing permits
On Monday, April 7, at 3 p.m., in hearing room F, the Oregon House Judiciary Committee has scheduled two anti-sportsmen bills for work session. Use the Take Action button to email the committee and urge them to vote “NO” on HB 3075 and HB 3076.
Relating to Ballot Measure 114, which has not even taken effect, HB 3075 increases the maximum fee that may be charged for an initial application for and renewal of a permit and extends the time, from 30 to 60 days from receipt of the application, by which a permit agent must issue a permit to a qualified applicant or mail reasons for a denial in writing to the applicant. We don’t need to say anymore how this is just not necessary at this point in time.
House Bill 3076 directs the Department of Justice to study the establishment of a state gun dealer licensing program and to provide the results of the study to the appropriate interim committees of the Legislative Assembly no later than December 31, 2026. We all know gun dealers have to have a Federal Firearms License to sell firearms, this is just more bureaucratic red tape.
Don’t forget to share this important alert with your family, friends, fellow sportsmen and gun owners and ask them to take action today. Urge them to join you and the Sportsmen’s Alliance in standing up to secure our future against the animal and gun control extremists seeking to destroy our values, beliefs, and traditions.
The Sportsmen’s Alliance guarantees hunting, fishing and trapping for the American sportsman now and forever. We’re there when sportsmen need us most. We are the only organization specifically created to protect the individual hunter, angler and trapper – no matter the threat. We will never compromise when it comes to defending our way of life in the courts, in the legislatures, in the public square and at the ballot box.
