The only way we can slow animal and gun-control extremists down is by being more actively involved and engaged in the process of protecting our values, rights and heritage at every level of government. This week, there are two opportunities in the Kansas House Federal and State Affairs Committee for sportsmen to help ensure our rights and values are secured.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 5, at 9 a.m. in room 346-S, the committee is scheduled to hear House Concurrent Resolution 5006. This resolution proposes a constitutional amendment to amend section 4 of the Kansas bill of rights to recognize the right to bear arms as a fundamental right that includes the possession and use of ammunition, firearm accessories and firearm components, and that any restrictions on such rights are subject to the strict scrutiny standard. HCR 5006 needs approval by two-thirds of the members of the House and Senate to be published on the 2026 primary ballot.
On Thursday, February 6, the committee is scheduled to hear House Bill 2104. This important bill establishes curriculum guidelines for a standardized firearm safety education program in school, based on the NRA’s Eddie Eagle gun-safe program, the hunter education program offered by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks or instruction currently certified in schools for such purposes.
Please use the Take Action button to contact committee members urging them to vote “Yes” on HCR 5006 and HB 2104.
Don’t forget to share this alert with your family, friends, and fellow sportsmen and urge them to also Take Action contacting the committee. Animal and gun-control extremists are pulling together to destroy our sportsmen’s rights and values, we must do the same to ensure our rights and values secured today. Together, we can secure our cherished traditions for future generations.
