Earlier this week, Arizona’s 2024 legislative session adjourned sine die. This means the legislative session has concluded for the year.
This year, there were a handful of sportsmen-related bills introduced. Few rose to the level of needing action and one pro-sportsmen bill was sent to the governor. Unfortunately, for the second time, Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed this legislation.
Senate Bill 1189, like the previous version SB 1428, would have further strengthened Arizona’s firearm preemption law by ensuring gun shows cannot be prohibited by local governments.
You can view the bills the Government Affairs Team monitored during the legislative session on our interactive map.
Even though the 2024 legislative session is over, we will continue to monitor activities in the Grand Canyon State as you never know when issues that sportsmen need to be aware of may arise.
